The impending closure was announced through a statement released via the venue’s Facebook page:
“They say that all good things come to an end.
And so, it is with deep sadness that we formally announce the closure of Miss Libertine.
For over 5 years Miss Libertine has been a platform to some of Melbourne’s most innovative and established music and art scenes. It has hosted local and international acts and seen newcomers become stars and stars become legends. The Libertine space has been a home to many different performers, djs, bands and local crews hosting a showcase of amazing parties, events and installations.
The family at Miss Libertine would like to sincerely thank our staff, punters, promoters and all the groupies who have made our past 5 years as a music venue so electric and unforgettable. But before the circus leaves town, you can be assured Lola and all her pretties will not merely go quietly into that night…Miss Libertine will rage in the following weeks with a fittingly awesome lineup of events and we invite you all to join us to toast the end of a remarkable era.
The story hasn’t ended yet…
