Today’s guests are first timers by this name, but they are regulars of the show – Sarah Jones and Nicholas J Johnson, aka Jonestown. Jonestown’s show Guinea Pigs is on 7.15pm Tuesday through Saturday, 6.15pm Sundays at the Portland Hotel.

ONE-OFFThe Great Debate is back for 2015 today. Arguing on the topic “That Social Media is Anti-Social”, Rich HallKatherine Ryan, and Ronny Chieng make up the affirmative. They will be facing off against Joel CreaseySara Pascoe, and Russell Kane. Waleed Ali from The Project will moderate. 3pm today at the Town Hall – it’s currently sold out but a few tickets might pop up at the last minute.

EXTRA SHOWS: As we get closer to the end of the fest, numerous acts have added extra shows:

Tommy Little has added two extra editions of Enter The Weapon. Tonight and next Saturday April 18, 11.15pm at the Town Hall.

Sketch duo slash trio Watson will hold an extra edition of Who’s Afraid Of The Dark. See it at the late night time of 11pm on Thursday April 16 at the Old Melbourne Gaol.
And fan favourite Adam Hills will have one more edition of Clown Heart. Saturday April 18, 5pm at the Athenaeum Theatre.

DAYTIME: When the weekend rolls around, the festival doesn’t just run once it goes dark – it runs in the daytime too. Amongst the early treats:

The Op Shop Tour will bus you around with comedians from 9.30am, outside the Town Hall.

Ali McGregor’s early show, CabHOORAY! 11am at the Spiegeltent at the Arts Centre.
The Exford Hotel hosts three afternoon shows. Ashes: The Comedy Showdown at 1.30pm. The Best of British 3.30pm, and Full of It: The True or False Game Show at 5pm.
Michael Chamberlin lets you know his Thoughts. 4pm, Imperial Hotel.
Also at 4pm, variety show Love Bites takes place at the Downstairs Lounge at the Grand Mercure Hotel
Love Your Work: Aussie Comedy Shorts, a collection of films is on at 4pm at ACMI.
Adult Drama Class presents Skits and Bits, 4pm at Preshil Blackbox Theatre.
Terry North’s Who’s Your Daddy?: The Funny Side of Parenthood has an extra edition. 4.30pm at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow.
Anthony Morgan kicks off a two show run today with Born With A Tail. 5pm at the Town Hall. Also at 5pm is Battle of The Superheroes: The Great Superhero Debate, that one’s at The Joint.
Rod Quantock & Fiona Scott-Norman reveal Drivetime with Two Leggy Redheads. 5.30pm at the Famous Spiegeltent
Celia Pacquola’s show Let Me Know How It All Works Out happens 5.30pm at the Victoria Hotel and is currently sold out.
And choose between Damian Callinan – The Lost WWI Diary or Steen Raskopoulos – Character Assassin, 5.45pm at the Town Hall.

PODCASTS: Two podcasts record live episodes today:

A live episode of The Shelf Podcast records today at the Imperial Hotel. That one is at 3pm.

I Love Green Guide Letters will get the letter lovers laughing, 4pm at the Athenaeum Theatre.

INTERACTIVE: If you want to be part of the festival, Clench’s show Be A Bumlady offers an opportunity to perform. 2pm today at Local Birds on Little Collins St.

FAMILY: Plenty of family friendly comedy on this weekend. Today features the following:

The (very) Big Laugh Out is going strong today. At the City Square Pitch, see Kano Mami at 11.30am, and Jessica Arpin at 12.30pm. At 2.30pm Peter & Bambi Heaven host the big show at Federation Square, with Kano MamiJessica ArpinFunny Bones, and Anna Pocket Rocket Lumb. Then at 4pm, Djuki Mala (Chooky Dancers) will host a concert featuring special guests. All shows are free.


The 26-Storey Treehouse comes to the Playhouse at the Arts Centre. 10am, noon, and 3pm today.
At 10.30am, Matty Gray’s Grossed Out Game Show plays the Northcote Town Hall.
At 11am, The Playground Craze makes it crazy at the Melbourne Town Hall. Also at the Town Hall: Madeleine Culp and Shane Matheson in Dinosaur Guts, Harley Breen & Heath Franklin in Captain Fun Pants and the Mystery of the Fun-o-Matic Fun Wand and Trash Test Dummies.
Also at 11am, the Yackandandah Young Players present Scaredy-Cat at the The Famous Spiegeltent at the Arts Centre.
At 12.15pm at the Town Hall, choose between Impromptunes: Tune Your Own Adventure, Jon Bennett’s family edition of It’s Rabbit Night!!!, or Showko with Ninja Ken & Sushi Monster.
At 12.30pm, Comedy Club for Kids returns to The Spiegeltent at the Melbourne Arts Centre. Also at 12.30pm, another edition of The Walls of Poetica at the Town Hall.
Improvilicious: The Improvised Guide to High School holds court at the Melbourne Town Hall from 1.30pm. Also at 1.30pm – Josh Earl in My Family’s Weirder Than Your Family.
Marty Putz is Putzing Around, 1.30pm and 3.30pm at the Wonderland Spiegeltent in Docklands.
At 2pm choose between Alex and Luke’s Make Your Parents Disappear at The Famous Spiegeltent or Mr Snot Bottom and The Curse Of The Stinky Silly Zombie Babies at the Melbourne Town Hall.
And ONGALS present their Babbling Comedy, 7pm at The Famous Spiegeltent.

SATURDAY SPECIALS: A whole bunch of Saturday specials on today at the festival:

Hannah Gadsby’s super popular series of art lectures is back today. Picasso and Other Problems looks at the works of Pablo Picasso and how it led modern art. 4.30pm at the National Art Gallery.

Radio station Nova holds another edition of their ROFL RoomNath Valvo hosts Nazeem HussainSparrow-FolkJacob LingardTommy Little and Paul Foot. 5pm at Trades Hall, entry is available via the Nova website.
Dig deep with show Meshel Laurie Talks Funny, when Tim Ferguson and Wendy Halmer talk about their time on ABC TV series. 5.30pm at the Town Hall.
Two editions of Le Noir take place today – 6pm and 9.30pm at the State Theatre.
Comedy-dining experience A Dinner to Die For takes place 7.15pm at the Retreat Hotel.
The final Squeaky Clean Comedy gala takes place, 7.30pm at the Melbourne City Conference Centre.
Previous MICF Daily guest Philly May holds court with two editions of The Philly May Show, 8.30pm and 10.15pm at Madame Brussels.

LATE NIGHT: In late night news Jameson Festival Club has a loaded one this Saturday night with Comedy Bonanza. Hosted by Dave Callan, acts including Simon TaylorSarah Kendall and many more. Afterwards, Rhys Nicholson hosts the Lip Sync Battle, which is then followed by music from Total Giovanni and DJ Bron Cougar Mellancamp. Doors open 11.15pm at The Hi-Fi.

Comedy room Political Asylum holds a one-off Late Night Riot with special guests Nazeem HussainRod Quantock, Scott Abbot, Toby HalliganJonestown, Gerard McCulloch, Jon Brooks and special guests. 11pm at the Town Hall.
