Methyl Ethel announces new EP and Australian tour dates

The news comes hand-in-hand with a brand-new single.

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Webb returns with new music under his Methyl Ethel moniker, revealing a new single and details of a forthcoming EP.

Titled Hurts To Laugh, the five-track EP is set for release in April. Exploring the difference between feeling and emotion, the handful of tracks ebb and flow between joy and despair.

The first taste of the EP has also arrived in the form of new single ‘Majestic AF’, a concoction of swirling synth, analogue polyrhythms and Webb’s unmistakable falsetto.

Methyl Ethel will take his new tracks on the road following the release of Hurts To Laugh, hitting stages in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in solo mode.

Check out tour dates and venues below.

The Outpost, Brisbane – Wednesday April 15

The Night Cat, Melbourne – Thursday April 16

Mary’s Underground – Friday April 17

Goodwill Club, Perth – Sunday April 19
