Seminal German DJ Ben Klock will headline the event.
It’s been more than six months since Novel threw their last party, yet while COVID-19 has temporarily quietened the event juggernauts, they are back with a new event as part of their popular smalltown series.
Going down in March 2021, the party or “street rave” as it’s been billed, will take place in a secret inner-city location that’s undisclosed to this point. An international electronic heavyweight has been announced to head the lineup, with German techno legend Ben Klock making his way to Melbourne for the event.
More international acts are set to be announced in the coming months for an event that channels the elusiveness of another of their CBD events, B3. This event saw the likes of DJ Koze, Charlotte de Witte and Gerd Janson perform from a Marvel Stadium carpark in 2018.
It goes without saying, 2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for the events industry but Novel are choosing to look to other side, where things will eventually normalise and we’ll all be able to party together again.
“Without a doubt, for many, myself included, this has been a challenging year,” Novel Director Daniel Teuma says. “Who knows what the other side will look like – but the silver lining here is that there is an ‘other’ side. We are choosing to focus on that.”
With the potential longevity of COVID-19, Novel has recognised the importance of safety and the need to adhere to all health regulations relevant at the time. As such, until they’ve received further information regarding the COVID-19 regulations, they will only be selling to 25% of the venue’s capacity.
In the event of a postponement, all purchased tickets will remain valid for the ensuing event, while punters will also have the opportunity to obtain a refund.
Novel’s smalltown street rave will go down on Sunday March 7. Tickets go on sale from 12pm on Wednesday October 7. More info here.
