Melbourne Music Week Reveal 2012 Partnerships

The City of Melbourne produced event will be working hand in hand with local labels Chapter Music, Siberia Records, Two Bright Lakes and Cutters Records to bring high profile interstate and international industry professionals and artists to Melbourne to further strengthen Melbourne’s music capital status.

 

However, to help create global links for local artists, Melbourne Music Week is also hosting two international delegates who will participate in the 2012 Facet he Music summit- Martin Atkins, who draws on decades of touring experience to formulate his practical, universal tips on all facets of DIY touring and Almudena Heredero, the founder of international arts consultancy Followspot, one of the creators of the highly successful Spanish music conference PrimaveraPro and overseer of the Sounds from Spain project in South project at SXSW, Canadian Music Week and Womex, will discuss her career in an In Conversation event.

 

The industry will come together during Melbourne Music Week when Face the Musicreturns to for its fifth year on Friday November 16 and Saturday November 17. Melbourne Music Week is again partnering with Face the Music to provide the Melbourne music community with a platform for professional and creative career development. The two day event features presentations, discussions, networking, live music, practical workshops, and the hottest tips and tools to give your music career the edge.

 

For the first time, Melbourne Music Week is also pleased to partner with The Age’s EG Awards to present the inaugural MMW Award for Outstanding Achievement in 2012 by a Melbourne Band or Artist. The short list will be announced on Tuesday October 2 with the winner announced at the award ceremony on Tuesday November 20 at Billboard.
