Melbourne Music Week opens 2019 expressions of interest

Get involved in one of the city's largest music events.

It feels like only yesterday that the annual Melbourne Music Week took over the city with its experimental program of performances, talks and art installations. Now, event organisers have opened expressions of interest for individuals and businesses to get involved in its 2019 program.

Melbourne Music Week organisers are currently on the hunt for hub co-presenters, record labels, live music venues, visual artists and other creative individuals and businesses. The selected venues will get to host events for the week and possibly have a bit of creative say in what goes down.

Venues including ACMI, Section 8, Ferdyduke, Flemington Bowls Club, Meat Market and the NGV all took part in hosting events at Melbourne Music Week last year. Overall, Melbourne Music Week has hosted 1,000 acts and programmed 2,200 events. While there’s no clear indication of what’s on the cards this year, organisers are saying Melbourne Music Week’s tenth anniversary will be ambitious and retrospective.
