Melbourne International Games Week 2018 is around the corner, bringing gaming enthusiasts the latest in tech, culture and innovation.

The Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI) is this year’s dedicated festival hub, and will be hosting four headline events.

Kicking things off on Saturday October 20 will be the Audience Lab: Games Testing event, where game-developers can showcase and trial their games, followed by Let’s Play: Creating Video Game Reviews on the Sunday.

All non-male gaming enthusiasts are welcome to attend the Women and Non-Binary Gamers Club meet-up during the week too, which will be hosted by illustrator and game-developer Leighton Gray. It’ll be a chance to swap stories with other non-male gamers, and be part of an inclusive and supportive video game space.

Lastly, the Education in Games Summit on Friday October 26 will be a chance for teachers to come along and learn how to integrate video-game learning into the classroom. With VR artist Brett Levy and Minecraft educator Meenoo Remi as key-note speakers, it’s bound to provide some insight into the future of classroom learning.
