Melbourne is getting its first drive-in concert venue

Flemington Racecourse
Words by Tom Parker

Untitled Group have got something special in store.

Flemington Racecourse will be the home to Victoria’s first drive-in live concert venue thanks to the Untitled Group, the guys behind the likes of Beyond The Valley, Ability Fest, Grapevine Gathering, Pitch Music & Arts and Wildlands.

12 large-scale concerts will take place at ‘The Drive-In’ set amongst the racecourse’s lush grasses, with the first month of programming set to be announced on Tuesday June 16.

The venue will look to reignite a hurting arts industry that was ground to a halt when the coronavirus crisis hit – more than 200 people from within the sector will be back in work when The Drive-In kicks into gear.

So what can we expect from the programme? Well not only will some of music’s brightest talent take to the stage but you can also expect movie screenings and comedy nights.

Watch concerts from the stage or via large viewing screens which will be spread throughout the venue – knowing the events expertise of Untitled, this is sure to be a state-of-the-art venue and experience.

Stay tuned for when the first month of programming gets revealed.

With a limited capacity for each event, you’ll have to book in quick via The Drive-In website.
