On the back of last year’s successful debut EP, HMO returns with a brand new single.
After releasing his debut EP Heightened Modus Operandi last year, MC, musician and producer HMO returns with a new single, ‘Shadows’.
Hailing from the South Coast of New South Wales, HMO’s sound encompasses everything from hip hop and funk to reggae and soul. His genre-blending sound is a product of his diverse influences which range from James Brown to Ice Cube and a host of contemporary Australian hip hop artists.
He cut his teeth playing in bands as a career musician, though since going it alone with his debut solo EP, he has gone on to support the likes of Urthboy, B-Wise, Nooky and more onstage as well as amassing his own fanbase.
His first single of 2020, ‘Shadows’ is an introspective journey through the human mind while exploring mental health, the pressures of modern life and the expectations we place on ourselves.
Mixing live instrumentation with classic hip hop beats while weaving between rapping and singing, the track mirrors the multi-faceted nature of the human psyche.
