His first track of 2020.

Matt Corby is back with his first solo material since his critically-acclaimed 2018 album, Rainbow Valley. The release of new single, ‘If I Never Say A Word’, comes alongside a new film clip, directed by Madeline Johnson and produced by Coralie Tapper.

The track see Corby continue along the soulful path he’s been treading for the last few years. ‘If I Never Say A Word’ is soft and warm and encapsulates all of the Corby charm music fans have come to know and love.

Co-produced by Corby himself and the revered Matthew Neighbour (The Avalanches, Missy Higgins), the song pairs a serene piano part with Corby’s lush vocals, telling of the significance of holding your tongue at particular moments.

“The past year I’ve been collaborating a lot and working in a production and engineering capacity with different acts like THE RIOT, Great Gable and Budjerah, which has been really exciting and sort of fed into this new music,” Corby says of the track.

The accompanying video follows a talented dancer laying down some inventive moves to the dreamlike melodies that carousel. The clip is set in the Byron Bay hinterland at a rustic homestead built 40 years ago for sustainable living.
