Making a Murderer 2 coming to Netflix in October

Nearly three years after Making a Murderer had us all spending 48 hours locked away binge-watching the entire season, the second season has now been officially confirmed.

Making a Murderer Part 2 will span ten episodes, and is coming to Netflix globally on October 19. The series returns its focus to convicted murderers Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey and their ongoing legal appeals.

“Steven and Brendan, their families, and their legal and investigative teams have once again graciously granted us access, giving us a window into the complex web of American criminal justice,” said series producers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos.

“Building on Part 1, which documented the experience of the accused, in Part 2, we have chronicled the experience of the convicted and imprisoned, two men each serving life sentences for crimes they maintain they did not commit. We are thrilled to be able to share this new phase of the journey with viewers.”

The new season also introduces Avery’s post-conviction lawyer Kathleen Zellner and her efforts to vindicate Avery.

Safe to say, we’re keen to get our detective hats on once more.
