The launch event will showcase an all female-fronted lineup.

Melbourne ‘Femmericana’ band Madeline Leman and The Desert Swells have dropped the music video for their country-infused track, ‘Nobody’s Fool’. The clip is dripping with an Americana aesthetic and comes packed with a strong feminist message.

The band have also announced a launch party for their newly-released debut album, Nobody’s Fool. The crew will be heading down to The Tote on Thursday to celebrate their latest feat.

The 11-track LP was released in late May and offers a blast from the past with its blend of 50s doo-wop and 70s pop. Judging by the music video for ‘Nobody’s Fool’, director Amber Mealing went all out in channelling a retro honky-tonk aesthetic.

The record features an all-female choir, including Leah Senior and Tiaryn, and stars Cash Savage and the Last Drinks’ Kat Mear on the fiddle.

Madeline Leman and The Desert Swells will be launching Nobody’s Fool on Thursday June 6 at The Tote. Tickets available via Oztix.
