Cooking up something good.
Joining the slew of musicians hosting bushfire relief events, Mac DeMarco has announced he’ll be getting behind the BBQ for a good old fashioned sausage sizzle while he is in Melbourne.
Dubbed ‘Grill For Good’, the BBQ will see DeMarco picking up the tongs alongside the likes of Amyl and The Sniffers, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Alice Skye, Laura Jean, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, POND, Julia Jacklin, Cable Ties, CHAI, and more.
Ensuring there are no charred snags, chefs Tobie Puttock, Shannon Martines (Smith & Daughters), Raph Rashid, David Moyle, and more will be on supervising duties, offering their best sausage-turning tips. To wash down your meat or veggie snags, there will be a bar stocked with goodies from Blackhearts & Sparrows.
With so many musicians on hand, it would be rude not to have some tunes. Soundtracking the sizzle, Cut Copy, Amyl and The Sniffers, Harvey Sutherland, Miss Blanks and friends, Remi and friends, and Soju Gang will each be jumping behind the decks for DJ sets.
Proceeds from the event, including merch purchases and donations for a selfie with Mac DeMarco, will go to Neil Morris’ Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities campaign and Wildlife Victoria.
Grill For Good is going down at Victoria Park, Abbotsford on Sunday January 12. Grab your tickets here.
