London Elektricity: Yikes!

Tony Colman, ie London Elektricity and the founding father of Hospital Records back in 1996, knows a little about what goes into a successful Drum & Bass tune. Within Yikes!, he shows his ability to carve out sumptuous songs, not just dancefloor orientated tracks. In fact, the majority of this album steps away from the full frontal stadium sound, veering down a timeless route, fully encompassing the vocal talents of Elsa Esmeralda who lending her voice to seven tracks on the album. Starting with Elektricity Will Keep Me Warm, it moves in the euphoric The Plan That Cannot Fail, the more down and driving title track Yikes!, before incorporating half speed German death metal drums in U Gotta Be Crazy. From here is becomes a nice glide to the end of the album, ending with the orchestral build to full on explosion with horns and all in Invisible Worlds. Class from start to finish.
