Kurt Gentle releases rocking new single ‘Fingers’

Kurt Gentle

Melbourne singer-songwriter Kurt Gentle has released new track 'Fingers', his third single of 2021.

Gentle shifted the tempo from his more acoustic roots into full-blown blues rock on the very catchy ‘State County Lines’, which was featured in Forte, and more recently with the more acoustically-driven ‘Brightest Stars’.

His third single is ‘Fingers’, an uptempo effort which continues to explore the various directions his new sound can take him, finishing with an explosive guitar solo.

Drawing well-founded comparisons to The Black Keys and with Jack White-esque vocal refrains, the singles create a serious buzz about a potential upcoming album.

Gentle was playing and touring regularly, including self-managed national tours, from 2010 onwards. He released his first record back in 2012, Barefoot Freedom. It was an early showcase of his multi-instrumentalism, blending guitars, harmonica, stomp box, tambourine, and vocals.

Gentle’s a highly-accomplished musician, having previously lived and toured the USA, as well as playing in Canada and China. He’s also played major Australian blues festivals like Queenscliff and Apollo Bay.

His debut record was back in 2017, nine-track effort Heart’s Fire, after which he built his own home recording studio that’s allowed him to pursue new stylistic directions with considerable success.
