When you’ve been in the rock’n’roll game as long as KISS have, there are few things left to tick off the bucket list. With their End of the Road World Tour well underway, the legendary US rockers have announced they’ll be taking their live antics to sea when they hit Australia next month.
That’s right, KISS will be performing a special concert on a glass-bottom boat on the Indian Ocean – an infamous breeding ground for great white sharks – because what’s more rock’n’roll than that?
As it turns out, sharks are attracted to low-frequency sounds, making them the perfect audience for rock’n’roll. The boat, appropriately named the ‘Shark Warrior’, will depart from South Australia’s Port Lincoln, making its way into deep waters before the gig kicks into gear. With only eight spaces available onboard, this is set to be a very intimate experience and the ultimate way to say goodbye to one of rock’n’roll’s biggest acts.
The intimate performance also marks Airbnb’s foray into offering Animal Experiences. The performance will be hosted by the Australian Marine Conservation Society, Australia’s only national charity dedicated solely to preserving Australia’s marine life, and all proceeds from the performance will go towards conserving Australia’s ocean wildlife.
KISS will perform on board the Shark Warrior on Monday November 18. Tickets go on sale on Monday October 14 at 6pm and are extremely limited, so get in quick. More info here.
