Taking to the iconic Palais Theatre on Saturday June 5, Kingswood is set to electrify audiences as they perform their 2020 album in full, filling the venue with the defining guitar and drum-filled melodies punters have come to know and love from the rockers.

Marking their first album since 2017’s After Hours, Close To Dawn, and written and recorded across the US, UK and Europe, Juveniles sees the dynamic between chief songwriters Alex Laska and Fergus Linacre grow even stronger, with Laska referring to the record as ‘a showcase of the band’s maturing’.

“The album reflects a new level of comfort, confidence and ownership of our emotions and the lives we’re leading at the moment in the most accurate and creative way we have done in any of the albums,” Laska revealed.

“It’s more obviously a return to our love of rock and roll and particularly guitars. Guitars are the hero in certain passages and are featured, celebrated and romanticised,” he continues. “I definitely fell in love with rock and roll again.”

Having only played stripped-back gigs post-COVID since the album’s fateful March 2020 launch at The Corner, the exclusive show will see Kingswood at their very best, complete with their incredible energy, superb shredding skills, perfect grooves and rhythms.

“To be playing one of the biggest shows in the band’s history, at a venue that has been a bucket list headline dream, in a time where a worldly plague is causing so much chaos … feels like alchemy, feels wrong – the kind of wrong that you know is just so damned right,” Laska says.

“Taking place in the city we love, our city, Melbourne. The city that withstood, persevered and succeeded. The best city in the world. It will be the event of the year and so say all of us!”

The triumphant return of the band will be rounded out by support slots from Cry Club, Shannen James (solo) and Psychobabel, promising to be a gig for the books.
