Isabel blends electronic R&B and dreamy neo-soul in her new single, ‘Sparks’

Isabel has broken her three-year hiatus with the release of her new single.

Melbourne-based musician and producer Isabel has released her long-awaited comeback single, breaking her hiatus with ‘Sparks’.

‘Sparks’ marks Isabel’s first solo release since 2017’s ‘Patterns’, having spent the years in between singles studying music production in Sydney and forming part of a band before relocating to Melbourne to further hone her skills as an artist and producer.

Isabel’s sonic evolution is immediately evident on ‘Sparks’, which marries a bouncy R&B beat with buttery neo-soul vocals and a hypnotic hook. Dreamy yet instantly catchy, the track is infectiously smooth with a slick retro feel.

Thematically, ‘Sparks’ explores the ways in which we romanticise ‘love at first sight’ and fast infatuation, reflecting on how easily we can find ourselves fully immersed in a relationship or trend before losing interest just as quickly and moving onto the next thing.

Having spent the past three years busy learning and refining her craft, Isabel is ready to put her skills to work. She’ll release her first video clip for ‘Sparks’ soon, as well as gearing up to release an EP and her debut album in the next 12-18 months.

“I’m really excited and it definitely feels right sharing music again,” says Isabel.
