The multi-sensory extravaganza will kick off this year’s Moonee Valley Festival.
Moonee Valley Festival is set to return this month, bringing with it a spread of free events celebrating local culture, art, music, food and more.
Kicking off the festivities comes Illuminate the River, a waterside event bursting with live music, roving performances, and pop up activities, not to mention a spectacular laser show on the Maribyrnong River.
Illuminate the River will feature a genre-spanning slate of live music across its two stages throughout the afternoon and evening.
On the Maribyrnong Park Stage, you’ll find 14-year-old singer-songwriter Lavinia Tosev flexing her award-winning pipes alongside the likes of X Factor star Mary Ann Der Horst with Paolo Familari, The Valley Brothers, The Chris Commerford Band, and Dr. Hernandez, serving up a steady stream of old-school ska, jazz, blues, folk, and rock amongst them.
Over on The Boulevard Stage, you can expect Jacobs Run, Oz Boys ™, Telenova, and Forever 80s ™ to have punters grooving with their offering of dancefloor-ready tunes.
And the entertainment doesn’t stop there, with a huge range of rides for big and little kids alike, as well as mini golf, an art space and much more on offer.
With over 15 food vendors onsite, there will be no hungry bellies, either. While punters are free to bring their own food, this year’s event is focused around sustainably packaged, healthy and allergen-free food, so you can rest assured there will be plenty of guilt-free options to choose from.
And let’s not forget the main attraction – and the event’s namesake – with the family-friendly extravaganza set to explode in a vivid laser show on the Maribyrnong River after sunset.
