Ian Moss announces new album Rivers Run Dry and tour dates

Ian Moss

His latest studio album is set to be released on July 21.

An Australian music legend is set to hit the road again this winter. Ian Moss, formerly a founding member of the pub rock group Cold Chisel and a talented guitarist, singer and songwriter in his own right, will be touring in support of his upcoming album, Rivers Run Dry.

Best known for his bluesy brand of rock with a distinctly Australian twist, the Alice Springs native will be bringing his power ballads and rockin’ jams across the country this August with a stopover at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on the 11.

After Cold Chisel disbanded in 1983, Ian Moss branched out on his own. His wildly successful solo career kicked off with the release of the global smash hit Tucker’s Daughter off his debut studio album, Matchbook.

On his upcoming album, Mossy finds himself in the producer’s seat for the first time. The album will feature 12 tracks recorded at Sydney’s Rancom St Studios.

“The song selection for Rivers Run Dry was focused on simply finding good songs, regardless of the style or genre they may have initially presented, and the result is an album that covers straight-ahead rock, Latin, funk, country, blues & unapologetic pop and yet we still ended up with an album that sounds very cohesive,” Moss says.

The artist will celebrate his new release by performing a handful of headlining dates with the support of his long-time band.

Tickets to see Ian Moss at the Palais Theatre on August 11 will go on sale at 9am on May 4. Pick your up here
