Great music for a great cause: local punk bands join forces to aid refugees

A selection of killer bands will take over both stages of The Rev in a special event that’s taking aim at the treatment of asylum seekers and refugees by the Australian Government.

A cracking bill of hardcore punk, rock and garage bands are getting together including Lubulwa, Face Face, Monkey Grip, The Out of Towners, Beef, Slugbucket and Tragic Carpet.

As well as live music, there’ll also be a screening of Chasing Asylum — a powerful documentary that explores the treatment of refugees through first-hand accounts.

There’ll also be stalls set up for the Refugee Action Collective and The ASRC, with speakers from the refugee community opening the night.

Capping it off, all profits will be shared between the RAC and the ASRC.
