As one of Melbourne’s best whiskeys, The Gospel Whiskey offers a special Christmas gift.
Launched late last year, Brunswick-based The Gospel Whiskey is the new kid on the distilling block. But that doesn’t mean it comes without pedigree – established by liquor aficionados Ben Bowles and Andrew Fitzgerald, The Gospel Whiskey emerged out of South Melbourne’s successful Melbourne Moonshine institution.
Bowles and Fitzgerald are industry pioneers – made entirely from Aussie ingredients, The Gospel Whiskey is one of the first distillers to venture into such territory and over the last 12 or so months, the duo have slowly honed their product to where it is today.
While The Gospel Whiskey offer a range of whiskey options, for the purposes of this piece, we’ll be spotlighting their Straight Rye Whiskey – a drop made from 100% Australian-grown rye harvested from a single farm in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia.
Drawing from the arid soils of that particular region, The Gospel Straight Rye Whiskey is full of character and has been aged in charred, new American oak barrels to embody the traditional characteristics of traditional rye whiskey. While the Straight Rye Whiskey has a traditional American flavour, its all-Australian ingredients ensure that the whiskey is authentically local.
To celebrate the festive season, The Gospel Whiskey is offering Beat readers a special 10% discount on their products from now until Sunday January 10. Just use the promo code ‘10BEATXMAS’ at their website to qualify.
