Any day now.
The Strokes’ Nick Valensi wasn’t subtle when he pretty much confirmed their new album is done. While there wasn’t a definite “yes” from the guitarist, Valensi did say he’s not sure when the long-awaited release would arrive.
Speaking to New York radio programme Out Of The Box, presenter Jonathan Clarke said he heard from a source that The Strokes’ upcoming album was complete and is currently being mixed.
“Wow you heard that?… well, it must be true then,” Valensi replied.
Valensi was fairly tight-lipped for the rest of the conversation, not giving fans any info on when the album will be released.
The forthcoming album follows 2016’s Future Present Past EP, which saw the five-piece also headline Splendour In The Grass the same year. New music was revealed to be on its way back in July, when Artist Group International president Masha Vlasic let it slip in an interview.
In the meantime, check out the origin story of the band’s debut album, Is This It.
