Frankie Cosmos drop out of Meadow, Olympia and Vanessa Worm join the lineup

Festival organisers have assured ticketholders the event will go ahead as planned.

New York four-piece Frankie Cosmos will no longer perform at this year’s Meadow after cancelling their Australian tour due to coronavirus concerns.

“We’ve been dreaming of returning to Australia & New Zealand since our wonderful tour there in 2017. But in light of current global events, we’ve decided to postpone our upcoming shows there for a future time,” said the band in a statement.

“To say that we’re bummed out is an enormous understatement. We’re gonna try our best to come back as soon as possible! We love Australia and New Zealand so much. We hope you love us back, still.”

It’s not all bad news, though, with enigmatic pop queen Olympia and evocative producer Vanessa Worm filling the gap left by Frankie Cosmos. They’ll be in good company, too, joining previously announced acts including Angie McMahon, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Sheer Mag, Donny Benét, Dyson Stringer Cloher, and loads more.

Festival organisers have also assured punters that the festival will go ahead as planned, with the Department of Health & Human Services Victoria and the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee deeming public events such as Meadow ‘low risk’.

Meadow is happening in Bambra, Victoria from Friday March 27 – Sunday March 29. Grab your tickets and find out more via the festival website
