Fontaines D.C. have postponed their Australian tour

The change of plans means the band will no longer appear at Laneway Festival.

Less than two weeks out from their Australian tour, indie-punk outfit Fontaines D.C. have postponed the upcoming run of shows.

“Due to ongoing recording commitments for our new album, it is with deep regret that we are no longer going to be able to perform at Laneway Festival or our other Australian headline dates across January and February,” said the band in a statement.

“We apologise to all who were looking forward to seeing us at Laneway and hope to see you at the new dates. As always, we hugely appreciate your support and understanding,” they added.

But all is not lost, with the band revealing they’ll be back in April for headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. All tickets for the band’s postponed January and February shows will be valid for the rescheduled dates, with full refunds also available.

The new dates have also come with a venue upgrade for Sydney, whose Paddington RSL show has been replaced with a stop at Metro Theatre. Brisbane has also scored a headline show at The Triffid while Melbourne will see an additional date at 170 Russell on top of the band’s sold-out Corner Hotel appearance.

See Fontaines D.C.’s new Australian tour dates below.

Tuesday April 21 – Metro Theatre, Sydney

Thursday April 23 – The Triffid, Brisbane

Saturday April 25 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne

Sunday April 26 – 170 Russell, Melbourne

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday January 23 via Handsome Tours
