Sunday DJ Sessions at Benzina Cantina

This Mexican restaurant with a rooftop bar is perfect for getting your funk on. Fashioned entirely out of shipping containers, Benzina Cantina hosts Sunday Sessions with several DJs spinning on Sunday March 17 from 1pm onwards. Revel in salsa, samba and Latin funk tunes as you overlook the cityscape with margarita in hand. Free entry. More info here.

The Tipplers at Merri Clan

Merri Clan is hosting a St Patrick’s Day celebration on Sunday March 17 from 12pm — 11pm. The Tipplers are an Irish duo based in Melbourne who play traditional Irish folk tunes, as well as modern favourites that won’t leave you tongue-tied. With Irish cocktail happy hours and Guinness giveaways, this is a shindig you’ll leave feeling Merri — and definitely not green. Free entry. More info here.

Bananagun Single Launch at The Curtin

Hiding between mountains in India and waiting for their opportunity to shine, ‘DO YEAH’ is Bananagun’s funkadelic dancey debut single that promises to bring bongos, bells, and everything jingly for a smashing singing extravaganza. Alongside them are Traffik Island and Crepes who’re sure to reign in all the dreamy pop feels to get your body gyrating. Hard. Tickets are $12-$15. More info here.

Dan Warner & Dave Evans at Drunken Poet

Starting at 8.30pm on Friday March 15, Dan and Dave are long-time buddies and buskers who pride themselves on the sounds of the accordion and solid acoustics. With tunes in the veins of legends Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty come to the Drunken Poet for a real feel-good singalong at a cosy venue. More info here.

Mr Silla at Northcote Social Club

The main event of the Melbourne Ukulele Festival sees Icelandic performer Sigurlaug Gísladóttir aka Mr Silla, together with guitarist Tyler Ludwick, take the stage at Northcote Social Club on Saturday March 16 8pm. Icelandic musicians are known for their ethereal sonic landscapes and Mr Silla is no exception, with the ebb and flow of energy sure to send you into orbit. Tickets are $25-$30. More info here.
