Fitzroy’s Bimbo Deluxe reveals new name and reopening date

Bimbo in Fitzroy, formerly known as Bimbo Deluxe

The $4 pizzas are back, baby.

Fitzroy’s Bimbo Deluxe will be reopening its doors next week with a new name and appearance after a fire tore through the premises back in May.

The beloved Brunswick Street bar is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday May 22, with an upgraded design, new art, a permanent music schedule and brand new booth seating.

Even though the name has been trimmed a little, venue staff are positive the soul and vibe of Bimbo will remain. The new decor will include a mural from local illustrator Filthyratbag, work from contemporary artist Elliot Routledge and contributions from Los Angeles’ Kristen Liu Wong.

Bimbo’s new roster of events include Tuesday acoustic music sessions, Wednesday trivia and a showcase of northside talent on Friday. Even though a brand new menu is also in the works, it’s been confirmed that the $4 pizzas aren’t going anywhere.
