The Swedish duo are back with a new track.

First Aid Kit have become one of the most respected folk duos in music with four albums under their belt from 2010 to 2018. With a worldwide fanbase that continues to expand, Johanna and Klara Söderberg have just released their take on the Willie Nelson classic, ‘On The Road Again’.

It’s their first release from 2020 but stands as a track the band recorded more than seven years ago. All proceeds from the single will be donated to Crew Nation, an organisation supporting the world’s music touring community who have been vastly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re excited to release our version of ‘On The Road Again’ by Willie Nelson,” the band said of the release. “We recorded this cover a couple of years ago and recently found it while digging through the archives. The song is a country classic, it feels like we’ve known it forever. Because of the situation with COVID, sadly, the theme of the song has never felt more relevant than it does today.”

Accompanying the song comes a new clip that takes inspiration from being on the road – snippets of past First Aid Kit tours are cut up to create two minutes of sentiment and recollection.

“We made a video for the song using cellphone footage from our tours throughout the years,” First Aid Kit continues. “Going through all those videos made us emotional. It made us realise how much we appreciate being able to roam freely around the world. How much we love the feeling of playing live for people, in the flesh. How much we miss our incredible band and crew.”
