Falls Festival announces the first round of sideshows

Words by Tim Thorpe

Can’t make the trip out of town? Say no more.

Now that spring has officially sprung, so too blooms the first announcement of sideshows from this year’s delicious Falls Festival lineup.

Branching out from the stacked bill of international acts will be German folksters Milky Chance, crooning R&B star Pink Sweat$ and the UK’s genre-bending rocker Yungblud.

Heading to Melbourne’s Festival Hall and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion for an all-ages event, eager fans will be treated to their first taste of Milky Chance’s brand new LP, Mind The Moon. The duo’s project is set for release in November and will feature their recent collaboration with Aussie singer-songwriter Tash Sultana.

After achieving millions of streams across his EPs Volume 1 and Volume 2, Pink Sweat$ will be gracing the stage at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel. Expect to hear addictive harmonies and sublime vocal abilities while being transported to a world packed with processed beats and trap-hats.

Performing for an audience of all ages at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Yungblud brings his upcoming underrated youth EP Down Under. The super talented Englishman represents a lavish fusion of punk, hip hop and guitar pop that’s proved to be irresistible to fans over the world.
