This celebratory show concludes a bumper year of performing, writing and recording for singer-songwriter Duxie Franklin. She’s been hailed ‘the musical lovechild of Joni Mitchell and Frank Zappa’ (Neil Gardner); ‘one of the finest voices in the city’ (Melbourne Unplugged); and ‘one of the country’s most unique and exciting emerging acts’ (Happy Mag Blog).
Duxie’s captivating live shows feature her sparklingly quirky songs such as ‘Get a Real Job’ and ‘Kill You With My Pillow’. Lush vocal loop harmonies raise her sublime soprano to great heights, drawing frequent comparisons to Kate Bush.
Supporting Duxie is folk/indie singer-songwriter, Louis. A regular busker and performer around Victoria, Louis draws from rock, blues and punk influences. In 2018, he performed at the sixth Real Songwriters of Melbourne event and was previously selected for the Push Mentoring Program. Louis is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut E.P., due out in 2020.
