The San Remo Hotel is located on the foreshore opposite Westernport Bay, just before you cross the bridge to enter Phillip Island.
The hotel has been owned by the Williams family for the past 78 years across three generations and is iconic to the region. Over the years, the town and hotel have grown considerably from the days when takings were roughly two shillings. You can wander around the hotel and view the local history through pictures and memorabilia around the walls to see how much it’s changed over the years.
In the hotel, the family have served three prime ministers, many world champion sportspeople, a great bunch of locals and tourists from all over the planet. They’ve endured fires, blackouts, bar fights and mad chefs. The famous Skyhooks got together at the hotel and the town’s biggest annual event, The Channel Challenge, originated over a few beers at the bar.
San Remo prides itself on using only the best local produce, including seafood directly from the boats and the best Gippsland beef and lamb. The family are also very proud of their reputation for great customer service combined with delicious food, which gives the patrons the best possible experience.
