Melbourne punk outfit Clowns have come out in support of Melbourne’s music scene by unveiling a string of tour dates this August.

For their Keepin’ The Dive Alive tour, Clowns will be heading to a number of small venues throughout the city in the hopes of getting patrons through the door. Four of the five gigs will be devoted to an individual Clowns record and the final show will be available for fans of any age to attend.

A number of Victorian music venues have recently closed down citing a decrease in live music attendance, such as Warrnambool venue The Loft.  Ballarat’s Karova Lounge is expected to close in October.

“Call it the weather, call it whatever you want, but we have heard it first-hand from our friends at the venues themselves and the fact is, we really need to start supporting the places that make Melbourne great before it’s too late!” the band said.

Check out Clowns’ tour dates below:

Wednesday August 14 — The Old Bar (performing Lucid Again)

Thursday August 15 — Last Chance (performing Bad Blood)

Friday August 16 — Bar Open (performing Nature/Nurture)

Saturday August 17 — The Espy Basement (performing I’m Not Right)

Sunday August 18 — Wrangler Studios (all ages)
