City of Melbourne has dropped a mindful playlist to help you de-stress in these uncertain times

Emelyne Khor

Sit back and relax with the latest instalment of City of Melbourne’s ‘Looking Out, Looking In’ series.

Curated by Melbourne producer Rings Around Saturn and PBS The Blend presenter Emelyne Khor, volume five of City of Melbourne’s ongoing Looking Out, Looking In Spotify series is a collection of ambient and mindful tracks from local artists.

Featuring tracks from the likes of Sui Zhen, Fia Fiell, Total Control and many more, the playlist is stacked with music for the mind and soul to help you de-stress in lockdown.

“[It’s] a collection of ambient and mindful tracks from local artists who have been mainly pretty active within the last five years whether it be performing live shows or putting out music,” says Khor.

“I think mindful listening is really important and can be hard to do in our everyday lives. Hoping this playlist helps you to listen mindfully, discover, think, feel and appreciate being in the moment,” she says.

“I’ve put together a playlist of songs that helps me live moment to moment or song to song in this case, these are pieces I can happily sit and listen to without doing anything else but at this length, I’d say it’s perfect for a long walk or for laying around in the sun having silent conversations,” adds Rings Around Saturn.

“Happy to say it features local artists who heavily inspire my work with a lot of it being made or released by people I am fortunate to call friends,” he says.

So, relax and let the music guide you to listen mindfully, discover, think, feel and appreciate being in the moment.
