City Calm Down are calling it quits

The Melbourne four-piece announced they will be taking an indefinite hiatus once their October tour wraps up.

On the back of releasing their third album Television mere months ago and with an east coast tour kicking off in a few days, City Calm Down seemed to be at the height of their game – making news of their impending hiatus all the more surprising.

Those who have already nabbed tickets to shows on the forthcoming Television tour will be glad, as City Calm Down have said it will be their last string of shows for the foreseeable future.

“Bands are fragile things that require a lot of time, energy and sacrifice to maintain, and we have put our hearts and souls into this project over the last 12 years,” reads the band’s statement on Facebook. “Our goals for the future, both as individuals and a group, have guided us in our decision to bring this chapter of our lives to a close.”

If you want to catch City Calm Down live, you’d want to get your hands on tickets to this month’s shows before they sell out.

City Calm Down hit The Croxton on Saturday October 26. Tickets are available here.
