Chelsea Peretti is releasing a concept album about coffee

Words by Kate Streader

Featuring the likes of Nick Kroll, Hannibal Buress and Terry Crews.

Comedian and actor Chelsea Peretti, best known for her role as Gina Linetti on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has released five songs from her upcoming comedy concept album about coffee, and they are relatable as hell.

While the album may seem like the result of being couped up at home with nothing to do, Peretti told CNN she has actually been working on the album for about a year. Originally, the project was devised as a joke submission for the Grammys, but now Peretti feels like she’s actually done a decent job.

Giving a taste of the forthcoming album, she’s released a five-track EP titled Foam and Flotsam, as well as video clips for tracks ‘LATE’ and ‘OATMILK’.

The album also features a pretty impressive slate of guests, including Wale, Kathleen Hanna, Reggie Watts, Juliette Lewis, Nick Kroll, Hannibal Buress, Terry Crews, Chika, Patti Harrison, and Andy Milonakis.

Say hello to your new morning soundtrack.

Foam and Flotsam is out now. The full album is due for release in June.
