Be submerged in the unique sound-world of the French Baroque as early-career instrumentalists from around the country join together for “Chaos & Chasms”. This unique project weaves the works of Jean-Fery Rebel and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre into a narrative featuring enamoured mortals, passionate gods, nymphs, demons, nightingales and inevitable tragedy. The instrumental music performed on baroque instruments evokes the energy, emotion and characters of the tale, while the tragic state of a proud lover’s turmoil is embodied in the sweet tones of soprano Karen Fitz-Gibbon.
This project is an artist-led initiative, all profits go directly and equally to the performers involved.
