Brunswick’s Rascal is so much more than just a wine bar

Brunswick’s Rascal is so much more than just a wine bar

For Vino to enjoy in-house or at home.

Last year Sydney Road welcomed Rascal to its fold of growing watering holes. Housed in a 150-year-old building, the wine bar has since proved itself to be more than just a late-night haunt.

With Elliott Pinn heading up the kitchen, Rascal boasts two impressive menus; one a full kitchen menu available from Wednesday to Saturday nights, and the other their regular bar menu. They’re both full of fun, fresh and delicious offerings, featuring dishes like pumpkin agnolotti, pine mushrooms and truffled pecorino, alongside charcuterie boards laden with local sourdough, assorted cheeses and cold cuts.

However, it’s their extensive drinks selection that really gets tongues wagging. They’ve got over 120 wines on offer, plus 60 different beers which you can have by the glass with your meal. You can also check out their cocktail list if mixed drinks are more your thing.

The team at Rascal have also taken things one step further, opening an adjoining bottleshop so you can take your favourite drop home with you. They’ve got a large assortment of wines, as well as some funky beers you wouldn’t be able to find at your standard supermarket bottle-o – think a vegan dessert stout from Molly Rose Brewing or a session IPA from TO OL, loaded with tropical fruit.

Head to their website to make a dine-in booking or check out their bottleshop selection. You can also visit the bottle-o at 341 Sydney Road, Brunswick.
