Conjuring moments of beauty down a well-worn garage-pop route, Bloods still seem burdened by a dreary adherence to the unadventurous aspects of their genre. Namely, the drums here on Language are rudimentary beyond pointlessness, becoming an almost tic-inducing distraction rather than platform for the soaring vocal interplay. It’s not a fatal blow to the still-listenable tune, but the lack of daring leaves you wanting.
