The ethos behind Torquay’s family-owned Blackman’s Brewery is simple: we love good beer. Proudly 100 per cent independent, quality is key for these brewers. Never rushed, Blackman’s beers are produced onsite using the best ingredients they can get their hands on.
In fact, the team is so proud of their brews that they’ve marked them with the family name, ‘Blackman’.
With restrictions easing in Torquay and Ocean Grove, locals can get back to drinking straight from the source. But for us Melburnians, we’ll have to settle for online orders to stock the home bar for now.
The Blackman’s collection offers something for everyone, with a core range stacked with favourites including a smoked porter, an IPA and a pale ale while the seasonal and special brew range has some more eclectic options including a vanilla choc mud cake stout that’s better than any dessert you’ll bake in isolation or a gin barrel-aged choc berry dark ale.
There are so many options to choose from, you could probably spend the next six weeks of lockdown trying them all. And yes, you can take that as a challenge.
