Ben Folds announces one-off show with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Ben Folds

It all goes down in March.

US music icon Ben Folds has revealed he’ll be touching down in Melbourne for a one-off performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Folds is a man of many genres, having mastered pop, rock and classical music across his slate of solo albums, records with the Ben Folds Five and numerous collaborations. He’s been performing alongside orchestras for years now and currently acts as the National Symphony Orchestra’s artistic advisor in Washington, so he’s a little bit of an expert.

“When I perform with an orchestra, I’m expressing myself through a different form than in a rock show,” Folds said.

“It’s a form that happens to be done by people who are among the best musicians on the planet.”

Ben Folds will be rocking out with the MSO on Sunday March 22 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets are on sale now via the MSO’s website.
