Catch Baker Boy as part of Melbourne Music Week.

Australian music fans of all stripes are united in their urgent desire for Baker Boy to release a full-length record. It’s not that we’ve been deprived of sustenance from the multi-lingual Arnhem Land MC.

Baker Boy has delivered a steady stream of singles since premiering his blend of old school flow, optimistic English and Yolŋu Matha lyrics, boom bap grooves and traditional sounds of Arnhem Land with the 2017 singles ‘Cloud 9’ and ‘Marryuna’.

Each successive release has re-affirmed the promise of those debut efforts. This guy – who also goes by Danzal Baker – has killer flow, patent authenticity, infectious energy and an uncanny knack for creating aerobic party rap originals. But we just want more of it.

Baker Boy will headline the Melbourne Recital Centre in February off the back of his latest single ‘Better Days’, which sees him teaming up with Noongar man Dallas Woods and the one and only Sampa The Great. The track reveals a more introspective side of Baker Boy’s personality without sacrificing any of his pulsing magnetism.

Baker Boy comes to Melbourne Recital Centre as part of Melbourne Music Week on Friday February 19, 2021. Grab tix here.
