Australian Music Vault gears up for Ausmusic Month with massive program

Vika and Linda Bull

November is gonna be huge.

The Australian Music Vault is gearing up to celebrate Ausmusic Month the way it knows best: a stellar program of gigs and insightful events.

Kicking off the proceedings will be Tell It Like It Is, a celebration of Indigenous hip hop on Thursday October 31 in The Channel. Featuring Munkimuk, Oetha, Neil Morris (aka DRMNGNOW), Philly and SojuGang, the event will explore the role of hip hop in family, culture, healing and sovereignty.

For the music-producing aficionados, AMV’s Process Lab will give punters familiar with Ableton Live a helping hand in understanding how to integrate iOS devices, pocket synths and drum machines into their digital audio workstation. Rounding out the month will be four shows by legendary soul duo and Music Victoria Hall of Fame inductees Vika and Linda Bull with their emotionally-charged performance, Between Two Shores. Originally performed in Adelaide, the show will blend together stories from their lives with a moving collection of songs.

The Australian Music Vault will also team up with Melbourne Music Week for the Hypothetical series, a handful of conversations aimed at helping communities deal with challenges that may arise in the future, such as cancel culture, industry responsibility and ethics.
