Fantastic result for the beloved Melbourne venue.
In collaboration with the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall (MDCH), the Athenaeum Theatre will be welcoming patrons back into its venue from Friday June 26 in a huge announcement for the beloved Melbourne venue.
The organisation has leapt on the recent government announcement that from 11:59pm on June 21 “indoor cinemas, movie theatres, concert venues, theatres, arenas, auditoriums, stadiums [are] to open with up to 50 seated patrons per space”.
In a post to their Facebook page, MDCH said that they’re set to “welcome a socially distanced studio audience of 35 people to selected concerts”.
“Be one of the first to venture inside the closed Athenaeum Theatre, stretch out in an almost-empty row, cheer on our artists and witness the live-streaming magic in action,” they continued.
The Melbourne Digital Concert Hall is an entity run by Melbourne musicians, for Melbourne musicians which has successfully hosted a number of gigs during the coronavirus crisis. Some of the Australia’s most talented classical artists have been able to maintain momentum during the downturn as a result of concerts broadcast live to MDCH’s website.
Tickets can be purchased now and $70 will get you a night of concerts from the MDCH within the Athenaeum. They are available for the nights June 26 and 27 as well as July 2 and 3.
