Eora/Sydney-based singer songwriter Annie Hamilton is heading to Melbourne in June for an intimate show at The Gasometer Hotel.

Annie Hamilton has announced a run of shows, including one at Melbourne’s own Gaso on June 3. Her debut album, the future is here but it feels kinda like the past, came out today – a transportive journey that traces the contours of a balmy high summer night. Synthetic, yet raw – the future is here but it feels kinda like the past is a beautiful debut from the artist.

In her first Melbourne headline show since 2019, Annie Hamilton is taking to the famous stage at the Gaso. Alongside shows in Sydney, Wollongong and Milton, she’s also heading overseas for appearances in London and Paris later this year. Although this latest release is her debut full length album, her previously released singled include ‘Again’, ‘All The Doors Inside My Home Are Slamming Into One Another’, ‘Night Off,’ ‘Electric Night’ and ‘Exist’.

“It’s about the passing of time,” explains Hamilton about her debut album the future is here but it feels kinda like the past, “how sometimes it flies by and sometimes it drags on forever and we’re always looking ahead wanting something more or wallowing in nostalgia, stuck in a past that probably wasn’t as good at the time as we remember it… the sense that the grass is always greener. The sense that there is never enough time to do everything that we want to do, or the feeling that we should have done more with the time that has already passed.”
