An acoustic evening with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

Returning to Australia this September is singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon. He’ll be performing songs from his solo releases as well as favourites from Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. He takes over Max Watt’s on Thursday September 20 with pre-sale starting Wednesday May 23 and all tickets available on Friday May 25.

Diagnosed with cancer in 2005, McMahon expressed the want to battle his demons through sophomore album Zombies on Broadway. “The songs took on the mood of what my life felt like in that time,” says McMahon. “Everything from a beautiful sense of celebration to being completely exhausted and wondering when I was coming up for air.”

McMahon has been writing songs since the young age of nine, inspired by Elton John and Billy Joel. In the past, he fronted rock band Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. More recently in 2013, McMahon reinvented himself under the name Andre McMahon in the Wilderness and released solo works.

The start of McMahon’s solo career was marked by his self-titled album, a personal account of the past, present and future that featured the hit single ‘Cecilia and the Satellite’. Known for his cultured and perceptive song writing and textured alt-pop sound, you don’t want to miss this unique acoustic show.
