The #AMSession, the title for the Instagram series, unpacks Murray’s creative mind and details various songwriting ideas and improvisations that have come to the emerging artist.

Now, the series has evolved into a sparkling eight-track EP embodied by smooth soul, R&B and jazz. Exploring the release, track two, the yearning ‘Someone Like You’, is a musical feast of a track that summons Murray’s stunning lead vocals, alongside backing vocals, horns, drums, keys and bass guitar.

Then there’s ‘Soul Searching’ – an out-and-out R&B track that’s vulnerable and revealing. Elsewhere, ‘Where Are You’ scales things back and stands as a gentle ballad bearing delicate electric guitar lines and looped vocals. ‘I’ve Got Love to Give’ closes the record out as a jazz-inflected piece – another soul-baring song that sees Murray wear her heart on her sleeve.

The AM Session is packed with ideas and presents an artist with a fruitful imagination. Having performed shows all across the world, including Melbourne’s Melbourne Recital Centre and Paris Cat Jazz Club off the back of her 2018 EP, Breathe, Murray’s found her voice and rhythm. It’s only up from here.
