After a 22-year wait, we are finally getting Crash Bandicoot 4

Words by Tom Parker

The legendary video game franchise has just announced its follow-up to 1998’s Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

In 2017, Crash Bandicoot returned to the surface with N. Sane Trilogy, the perfect culmination of the three games that came before. Punters were once again able to dive headfirst into the classic adventure that took us to all corners of Crash Bandicoot’s world.

Now, the fourth instalment in the celebrated video game franchise has been announced with a trailer in tow. Titled Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the game champions the same gameplay that the original three games brought us with a few extra inclusions.

Gamers will still be able to twist, turn, jump and barrel your way through enemies while also picking up Wumpa fruits along the way, but fresh additions will come by way of wall running, rail grinding, rope swinging while Crash will also be given superpowers via special Quantum Masks.

Toys for Bob have once again been given the keys for the job, having won plaudits for their work on N. Sane Trilogy, so gamers can be rest assured that the storied Crash Bandicoot legacy will continue on It’s About Time.

What’s more, the trailer is soundtracked by Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ and if that doesn’t get you up and about, I don’t know what will.

Playstation 4 and Xbox One gamers will be able to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time from October 2. Head to the website for more info.
