Adelaide shoegazers The Howling Fog announce Melbourne gig and projection show

The Howling Fog

It’s gonna be a trippy time.

Psych-shoegaze outfit The Howling Fog are coming all the way from Adelaide to Melbourne to celebrate the release of their brand new record, Drifting.

Coming to Melbourne studio and venue Cactus Room, The Howling Fog will be joined by electro-jazz outfit User, power pop group B!and and electronic duo Golden Eye. The gig will also come complete with some trippy David Lynch cinematography organised by AV collective Electric Light Brigade.

The crew recently released the video for their brooding single ‘The Needle’s Falling’. The track is inspired by the “state of franticness” frontman Peter Blunden had to overcome in recent times.

“I was working too hard, burning myself out and I felt a strong need to slow things down,” he said.

“The opening bars of this song came naturally during a jam, and had this haunting sound with a tone of reservation and sadness that complemented the feeling perfectly.”

Catch The Howling Fog at Cactus Room on Saturday December 7 at 8pm. Tickets are $10 on the door. Drifting is out now, find it on Bandcamp.
