A party dedicated to ’90s R&B is going down in Melbourne tonight

Salt n Pepa

You ready?

Ooooh yeah, the time is now for all you R&B aficionados to rise from your weekday slog and ready yourselves for a special party; one that has been tastefully curated by rhythm and blues connoisseurs themselves, Above The Rim Events.

For the second instalment of Brown Sugar, The Night Cat is set to come alive with the likes of renowned producer DJ Peril from 1200 Techniques performing five hours of straight ’90s R&B fire. Think Salt-N-Pepa, TLC at the top but don’t forget about Aaliyah and En Vogue – remember ‘Hold On’? My oh my.

And that’s just the start, also performing the on the night include Aussie R&B Queen Emily Williams (An Australian Idol runner-up from 2005), award-winning songwriter Gary Pinto from CDB and another Australian Idol top finisher Ricky Muscat backed by an All-Star six-piece band.

’90s adorers unite, this might just be the R&B throwback party of the year.

The party kicks off tonight at 9.30pm at The Night Cat. For more info and tickets, head to Eventbrite.
