Inspired by International Jazz Day.

Melbourne’s jazz scene is welcoming a new member of the family with the establishment of the Jazz Roots Festival, kicking off in April at teh Coopers Malthouse Theatre Courtyard.

Presented by beloved Melbourne venue the Paris Cat Jazz Club, the Jazz Roots Festival is a vibrant showcase of established and emerging jazz musicians. Jazz Roots’ lineup has been carefully selected to span across a bunch of jazz subgenres in order to give the audience the full experience. The festival has been inspired to pay homage to International Jazz Day, which lands on Tuesday April 30 this year.

Notable acts scheduled to make an appearance at the inaugural Jazz Roots Festival include the Black Jesus Experience, Emma Donovan and the Putbacks and The Toshi Clinch Big Band. Altogether, its ten bands playing over the day-long festival, so get ready to groove your heart out.
